My grandchildren, my daughter, and my life with Tom are certainly my rai·son d’ê·tre! However, photography is way up there on my list of things that bring me great enjoyment. If I were suddenly struck blind it would be devastating for me, because I would not be able to indulge my passion for this terrific art form. When I look through my camera’s view finder I am always surprised. Although I may have looked at a particular scene many times, it is not unusual for me to suddenly see a great photograph develop. It was there all along. I just never noticed it before.
I am often drawn into a scene in search of a photograph before I am even sure what I am looking for. I put the camera to my eye and I search, and search, and sometimes there is nothing. Every now and then, when the light and shadows meet at just the right places there pops out of the scene a photograph that yells out to me, hey! here I am! and BAM! magic happens.
