Pumpkins, Dancers and Babies

It’s Fall! This is my favorite time of year and getting away from Florida to visit a state that actually has seasonal color changes is invigorating. I really enjoy visiting Albuquerque especially during this season of pumpkin carving,  costumes, and Halloween decorations.  All the kids, big and little are giddy with excitement.

Albuquerque has an easy rhythm and as soon as I get off the plane I just flow into an Albuquerque state of mind. I am ready for mountain hikes, cool air, and lots of color!

My days here begin with the sound of my granddaughters laughing and trying to stay focused as they engage in their daily ablutions. It is fun and inspiring to watch the things that distract them. I relate to their reactions since I live in my own world of dispersed awareness.  The things that distract – or rather – attract can be very ordinary but totally terrific. Mallory and Ella naturally gravitate to spontaneity. They are intuitively drawn to this space where it’s all about NOW. Here time-limits fade to the background and reality becomes full of these incredible playful experiences. What fun!

Nana Meets Olive

She Melts Me!
She Melts Me!

Another gorgeous baby girl to spoil rotten, love, indulge and get yelled at by mom and dad for not following the rules! I love grandmotherhood:) Yes I made up that word!

Ahhhh! That damned thing called reality is so disagreeable! It usually finds a way to poke you back to the dreary world of reason and logic!  Who said we can’t live like this? Why do we have to leave this place? I say monetize it and stay here!

Explorations through the forest turn into fascinating action filled adventures that include being chased by imaginary creatures.

This is Nana’s Vacation, and Nana loves adventures. She loves to escape with her girls via photographs.  In fact,  Nana is a memory making machine whose sole purpose for being at times seems to be the documentation of her granddaughters’  lives.

I cherish all the moments I share with them and I mourn all the things I will miss as they grow into their lives, with their own families, when I am no longer here. Sometimes I wish I believed that there is another world, where after we leave this one, we will all meet again and catch up.  But I don’t believe that there is anything beyond these moments we share here and now. That is why Photography is so important to me. It is a way I hope to share how much I enjoyed my grandchildren. How much I loved being with them, and how important they are to me. Mostly, I want to impart to them how beautiful I think the world is. It’s all here for them to explore. I hope they feel that all this beauty that surrounds us should be cherished, enjoyed and protected.

Well, I’ve been back now for a week. I’m still organizing and cataloguing the photos I captured on my visit. So many! I can’t decide which I shall print. Here is a recap of my trip and all the wonderful photographs I captured.
